This was the second orca we saw and the first shot I got of an orca body. The guides said they had not seen them in over a month, but maybe they tell everyone that. Here was a 4th sighting, the 5th animal I got pictures of. I finally got up to 300 mm, my maximum focal length (max magnification) 2013:08:29 15:54:52 Exposure time: 1/2000 F-stop: 14.0 ISO speed: 1600 Focal length: 300mm. Note the fast exposure time of 1/2000 sec so camera motion even on the bobbing boat was not a problem. I was lucky to have a bright, sunny day.

The boat turned and went about 3 miles south to where they knew the humpback whales were. It was great to see the spray of one blowing as we approached the area.
